1. The merger of 10 state-run banks into four will come into force from April 1, 2020. As per the scheme, Oriental Bank of Commerce and United Bank of India will be merged into Punjab National Bank; Syndicate Bank into Canara Bank; Allahabad Bank into Indian Bank; and Andhra and Corporation banks into Union Bank of India.

The idea of an emergency fund to fight COVID-19 outbreak in the region was mooted by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on 15th March 2020. He had announced on 8th March 2020 that India will contribute dollar 10 million to the fund.

Their white appearance is due to a rare condition called leucism, which causes skin cells to have no pigmentation.
